Meet Our Staff
James (Jim) Taylor Jr. is the son of the founders and owners of Taylor’s Auto Group, Bamma and James Taylor Sr., and is part owner himself. Founded when he was just 7 years old, Jim grew up alongside the Taylor’s Auto businesses and watched his family build the empire from the ground up. Along the road, Jim found himself in just about every position at Taylor’s, working in sales, service, financing, and management positions. He started by selling cars at the first Taylor’s dealership in junior high school, and in high school and college, he worked at a local body shop, a windshield replacement business, a local ski gear and apparel store, and in an automotive detailing service center. Jim attended the University of Montana for three and a half years while perusing a degree in Business and Accounting. After college, he worked in finance at Jim Taylor Motors in Fort Benton. He then moved to the finance department at Taylor’s Auto Max in Great Falls for 7 years, and then moved into a Sales Manager position for 12-13 years. After that period of time, Jim’s uncle, who was a part owner at the time, retired and the position of part owner was passed onto Jim Jr. His career boasts a total of 26 years in the business and 8-9 years as an owner. As an owner, he takes on the responsibility of general business operations, finance and accounting, profitability, and ensuring the success of his employee and customer experiences. What he enjoys most about what he does for a living is adapting to current business trends and seeing the hard work, growth and success of the business. Jim has lived in the Great Falls area his entire life and is proud to be part of the community. What he loves most about Great Falls is the beautiful outdoors, small town atmosphere, the high-quality education and environment for raising children, and living about 10 minutes away from “God’s Country.” When Jim’s not handling the business, he enjoys outdoor recreation like wake surfing, riding dirt bikes, and hunting in the fall. But what he enjoys the most is spending his time supporting his three sons with their education and athletics. Jim himself played football, basketball and soccer at his alma mater, Great Falls High School. Jim and his wife of over 20 years also own two dogs.

While sharing the responsibilities of being an Owner with the Taylor’s, Dan also oversees staff at Taylor’s Auto Group, and manages the Sales and Finance Departments, Parts and Service, Marketing and social media, and Human Resources and benefits. He also acts as the New Car Manager, oversees daily operations and processes, and is working to become the full-time General Manager of Taylor’s Auto Group. What he enjoys most about his job is getting the opportunity to develop his team and help them succeed in their careers. He grew up in areas of Colorado, California, and Mexico before heading to Montana State University to get a degree in History. His two children have followed his footsteps and are currently attending Montana State. Jay has been one of Taylor’s top automotive salesmen for almost 7 years. He joined the team in December 2014, after serving in the U.S. Air Force Band for 21 years and owning his own music business for 7 years. As a leader in sales, Jay seriously loves his job at Taylor’s Auto Max and working with people of all ages and backgrounds. He enjoys tackling new challenges every day and to Jay, there’s no better feeling than finding the perfect vehicle to meet the wants and needs of each customer he meets. Jay moved to Great Falls from his hometown of Edmonds, Washington after his retirement from the Airforce in 2000. What he loves most about living in the Treasure State are all the friendly people, the privacy and small-town feel of Great Falls, and traveling the beautiful outdoors in his motor home. When Jay isn’t finding someone a great, new ride, he enjoys spending his time camping and boating, doing yard work, and just relaxing at home while watching Sci-Fi or war films. Jay has five fully-grown children and recently remarried in April, 2021. He and his wife own three dogs and one cat. Italian food is Jay’s favorite thing to eat and Air Force Blue is his favorite color.
Salesman, Sean, has been part of the Taylor’s Auto Max family for over 23 years. His career in sales began in 1989, and his favorite part of what he does everyday is getting to communicate and interact with people every day. Sean’s family includes three daughters, three grandchildren, two dogs, one cat and his wife of 16 years. When he’s not selling cars, Sean likes to enjoy the outdoors by camping, hunting, fishing, boating and riding his ATV. He also loves to cook, and his favorite dishes to prepare are sushi and ceviche. Sean has been a resident of Great Falls for over 35 years, and he likes calling “The Last Best Place” home because he’s close to grandkids. He’s more of an outdoors man, but he supports some sports teams like the Las Vegas Raiders football team and the University of Montana Grizzlies football team. Sean’s favorite color is red, and if he could have any vehicle in the world, he’d choose a 2021 Corvette in the color black.
Austin is one of our many outstanding salesmen at Taylor’s Auto Max. He got into sales after spending 7 years working in the steel erection iron industry. What he enjoys most about his job is the process of finding his customers the perfect vehicle by demonstrating its features and showing them how that vehicle will suite their lifestyle. Austin was born and raised in Shelby, MT and graduated from high school in Sunburst, MT. He moved to the Electric City over 6 years ago, and what he enjoys most about calling it home is the powerful Missouri River that flows right through the middle of town, and the close mountain ranges. He enjoys taking full advantage of the great Montana outdoors in his free time by hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. He also enjoys watching Dallas Cowboy football games and L.A. Lakers basketball games. Austin and his fiancé have a daughter, two dogs and a cat. If he could take any vehicle on the lot, he’d want a 2022 Ford Power Stroke.
